The only creature stirring was a mouse in my house
It's currently 10:15 p.m. and my eyes are getting heavier by the minute. H is still going strong talking a million words a minute. As I sit here in my Lazy-Boy watching Hallmark movies and working on my digital scrapbook, out of the corner of my eye I see a blur of fur, yep, a mouse. It ran into the corner and I could hear it making noise. Then minutes later I see it up on the fireplace mantle with a Kleenex the size of its body. I told H to hold still and watch. He gets up on the chair and we watch. She sticks her nose out and back in making sure the coast is clear. She comes out and tries to take the Kleenex up through one of the rocks in the fireplace (one of the cracks I have stuffed with steel wool). The Kleenex is too big and she stops and rolls it into a smaller ball and takes it right up the hole. H goes on and on about seeing the mouse and how he wishes A and S were awake to kill it and then he goes to wake Kevin to tell him. He goes quiet for a brief minute and then comes up to me and says, "Mom, I know why the mouse took a tissue. It's baby needed to go potty." I giggled. Of course, she had to wipe a baby...or make a nest for 13 more. Let's hope she also finds the poison bar I have hidden for her lunch.
